About Gringa Flan

When I moved to Miami over 25 years ago, I quickly fell in love with the diversity of culture, life and food that this area of South Florida has to offer. Coming from the DC area I had never tried Flan before I came here. Once I saw my first flan, I was intrigued. I loved how the golden caramel fell around the flan and around it – on it’s serving plate. Like a piece of food art!

My passion is cooking – especially for the one’s I love. So, learning how to make flan was the perfect addition to many of my “made with love / cooking to score” recipes. It’s such a delicate and beautiful dessert that I just had to learn how to make it. I got great recipes from friends, but then tried my hand at my own unique coconut flan recipe.

Gringa Flan made fresh, to order. I create the caramel from scratch, and I use the freshest eggs, along with the finest Mexican vanilla and Jamaican coconut milk. And the unique coconut topping is slowly toasted to get the most perfect golden brown color for a splendid taste, and texture. I like to top the flan with the toasted coconut right before I serve it, so it stays nice and crunchy!

Each Gringa Flan order is made with love…it really is! I want my Gringa Flan fans to be happy with their flan decision. And I want them to be proud to serve it to their family and friends.

I get asked a lot (after someone tastes Gringa Flan) ….“So, what makes it Gringa?” And I always tell them – “Me! …I am the Gringa”

Fondly, Jessica
.…aka the ‘Gringa’, in Gringa Flan.

Thank you so much in your interest in Gringa Flan.
